What Everybody Ought to Know About Short Design Courses

One of the facts about a successful career in digital media is that you’ve got to stay on top of the latest developments in technology.  Digital media programmes and techniques are evolving constantly and it seems like the ‘latest’ developments are obsolete in the blink of an eye.

Whether you’re looking to start a career in the creative digital media industry or if you’re trying to get a leg up in your current career by gaining familiarity with new programmes, Natcoll short design courses can help you.

Why take a short course?

Short courses are ideal for people looking to gain some knowledge about the creative digital arts, but don’t have the time for a full-time study.  Short courses are also a great way to test the waters before you decide to pursue a career in digital media production or to further your study with Natcoll.  Not only are short courses affordable, they’re a great way to learn the digital media skills you want at a time that is convenient for you.

When are the short courses?

We understand that you have a busy life outside of Natcoll, so we offer our short courses on a variety of dates and times throughout the year.  To suit your schedule, we offer these courses during the days, the evenings and over weekends.  Courses only last a few days so the time commitment is not prohibitive for anybody.

Where can I take a short course?

We offer short courses in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.  Scheduled courses are on our campuses, though if you can’t find the programme or time you’re looking for, we can also work out a customised training either on Natcoll campus or at your home or office.

What sort of short courses are available?

We also have short design courses to introduce you to the programmes used for graphic design and web design.  The specific short courses offered include the following and vary from campus to campus.

  • InDesign
  • Photoshop
  • Illustrator
  • CSS
  • Dreamweaver
  • Flash
  • XHTML
  • 3D animation
  • Actionscript
  • After effects
  • Video editing

Check out the pages for our Auckland short courses, Wellington short courses and Christchurch short courses, for more details.
